I’m so EXCITED! Yep doing the happy dance!
Let me share a little bit before I share the sweet part.
I was lucky enough to take an early retirement last March!
I mean everyone thinks about retiring, right. A time we all think about, not working, just living the “good” life.
I didn’t realize I could be happy, and yet feel a huge sense of loss.
Let me explain, I’m a high energy kind of girl, a go getter, never one to sit around. Got to go, got to go.
Never been one to sit still, too much out there to do.
I’m definitely a type A personality, or was!
Since retiring, the hardest part for me was feeling like I was losing my drive, if I’m not the driven girl, who am I?
During this time is when I started my blog.
I do love it, but it felt like something was missing.
I found myself “thrifting” just about every day. I love it, the thrill of the hunt, what can I revamp, what treasure will I find, the passion of decorating!
Am opportunity came my way, to open my own booth in an antique shop.
Loved the idea, and was excited, but deep down it just never felt like this was the place for me. I loved having a booth, but wasn’t excited about the location/space. Been in this shop for nearly 6 months I knew it was time for a change.
I always had an image of “the” shop/space in my mind – one that would excite me, one that would feel like a home away from home!
I’ve prayed to God, maybe even pleaded a little.
Drum roll please!
Well it happend. I’ve found the booth of my dreams. The one that put a big smile of joy back on my face.
Now I have great pics of inside but didn’t do so well outside…
Indian Oaks Antique Mall, Bourbonnais, IL.
Indian Oaks Antique Mall was named as one of the top 80 antique malls to shop in the Fall/Winter issue of Flea Market Style.
The citation for Indian Oaks “Classic antiques, books, and those quirky little statement pieces you just have to bring home. They play this old music that sets the tone for whole place. It’s perfect!”
Indian Oaks was ONE of only TWO spots named in Illinois.
The booths vary in size, from very large to small.
I’m not showing a picture of my booth since it ‘s occupied.
Can you see why I’m so excited!
I’ll be moving in between February 2-5.
Once it’s looking fine, I’ll post some more picture.
The next few weeks are going to be so busy, closing one booth, opening another, and shop till I drop.
Can you see my feet moving, I’m doing the happy dance.
