Smile peeps,
Today has been another beautiful day - I am enjoying every single moment.
I hope these days never end!
Our master bedroom has been under renovation since last October!!!
Yes, that's almost a year, another project that has fought us every step of the way.
UGH!!!
I went to my first barn sale a few weeks ago, and I spotted a really cute lamp, that would be perfect for our bedroom,

and found this cute metal lamp..Oh this isn't how she looked when I bought her!

It caught my attention because of the open lacy like pattern

Isn't it pretty - $4.
I've been looking for a smaller lamp to sit on our bedroom's library table.

We took the lamp apart, primed and spray painted with Heirloom White.

I love her lightened up, clean and fresh.

Doesn't the metal pattern just pop now, adds such charm.
But the lampshade was just too plain for her, but I liked her shape.

I didn't want to rip the shade off, even though I like the wire look.
I started playing with some linen handkerchiefs and dollies.
I found this lace table runner (price tag still on) and started playing with it..but the pattern just didn't see to fit.

I started playing with another table runner I bought at the barn sale, and really liked the open pattern on it.

I started to rap the runner around the shade, tucking in the runner's top edges.

I gently formed the runner around the shade, the runner had a heavier weight to it and molded well to the shade.

It was very easy to mold the runner to the shade, and left a little overhang just below the shade.

I centered the pattern around the front of the shade.

I love how she looks all lit up, and a sneak peak of our bedroom.

I'm just loving her, she came out exactly how I imagined.
What lamps have you been working on?

Cathy, the lamp is so cute in white, and you are right the paint made the design pop. Lovin' the shade too. Great photos.
The paint did make her pop, she's all light and bright. The lace shade just added added. So glad you like!
Absolutely gorgeous! I have some old lamps I've been wanting to paint. This has given me the motivation. I love the lace shade. It's perfect with that base. Great job, Cathy!
So glad y0u like her, I agree the lace shade does match the charm of the base. Amazing what spray paint can do!
That looks really sweet! Great makeover
Thanks!
What an awesome transformation. Your lamp had great bones and just needed a little help to bring it back together. Very nice job!
She sure did come back together after being painted, I wish it was that easy for me!
You've turned that into a beautiful lamp, and the shade is perfect to go with it!
Thanks, the lace shade did help make her. A very easy fix!
I bought a lamp for $2.00 at a sale but havn't did anything to it yet, you sure gave me inspiration to try! You know I've never seen the heirloom white, I've looked for it at Lowe's, Walmart and Kmart but no luck. Great lamp and shade!
It's so nice to inspire someone, the heirloom white is Rustoleum spray paint sold at Menards, Hobby Lobby, and Kmart! Look in the spray paint area!
Very cute!!
Thanks, I think she cute too!
Love the lamp makeover. The shade turned out so pretty.

I am about to change out a bedroom lamp. I have an old base that I'll paint, but haven't decided on the shade yet, so this post was very inspirational--thank you!
It was an easy fix and it completely brought her back again. Glad to help give you some inspiration!
I like that lacy pattern very much and what a nice makeover on the shade! It's lovely !
The lacy pattern is what drew me to her, knew she would pop once painted.
