Are you all as busy and I am decorating my home for Christmas? So many holiday tubs to go through, vignettes to create, and holiday cheer to bring to life. Each year its more difficult to come up with new ideas using the same yesteryears treasures and this years Christmas Village.
Throughout the year a new piece or two is picked up while thrifting and creativity needs to take over. For me, traditional, old fashioned themes are the best for the holiday. Red/white/green is m go to and never feel the need to “modernize” my holiday look, it just wouldn’t be the same.
Four of these tiny cloches were found at GW for 99¢ and a lamb from my nativity set was placed inside with a snow capped tree. Evergreen trimmings, Cyprus, provide greenery and a woodland effect.
Several glass jars filled with snow and trees, a shepherd holding a lamb tucked in amongst the setting.
I found myself adding more and more of my nativity pieces.
Whenever I find tiny pieces of animals thrifting I snatch them up and if you look really close…you’ll see a tiny baby deer in the back jar. Whenever I walk by I tucked my nose up close to see him.
More of the nativity set, Mary and baby Jesus (under the cloche) were nestled in place.
When I started decorating the mantel a Christmas Village wasn’t in mine and as I opened our holiday bins the nativity vignette naturally came to life.
This morning Mr. C and I are headed out to pick something I’ve been looking for for a long time now. I did pay a little more than I usually do, but I do think once you see it you will agree. Will share soon.
Is you holiday decorating done?
