3 French Hens – French Country Market

Smiles peeps,

Last Sunday a group of ladies and I headed West...
to the 3 French Hens - French Country Market
at Canal Port, Morris IL.

Morris is really a cool town, and has one of the few prospering and historically intact down towns in Illinois.

It's also one of the top 15, based on vendor selection, location and variety in the country.

The market is in the tradition of European open air markets, and is held on the grassy banks of the historic I & M Canal.

Ruby Begonias and Whimsy shops were the visionaries behind the market.

There is every type of vendor you can imagine, farm stands...

and features more than  70 vendors....

selling everything from fresh produce, pies, jellies and jams...

to antiques...

and one-of-a-kind artisan works.

gorgeous, original artist made linens...

and everything in between...

The weather was perfect in the mid 70's and sunny.

Afterward we stop for lunch at Letty May's Tea House.

You'll find an assortment of teas, antique, reproductions, handmade aprons, pillows, memory boards, hair bows and barrettes … and just a wonderful collection of Fancy Junk.

All the tables are all filled with vintage tea cups and saucers!

Antique aprons are strung across the dining room to add a vintage look.

My friend Kim (left) and Michelle (right).

It was one of the best days I've had, a really great experience.
already planning on going back in October.

  3. The white frame on the chalkboard is pretty awesome. Loved the tea tables and hanging aprons too.

  4. I LOVE the old dresser mirror they turned into a chalkboard!! I have one sitting in a closet that I'm thinking I might just do this too! Wish they had this type of country market by my house!

  5. I love this market--an outdoor market is where I'd like to be, and I love the name of this one, too. The tea shop where you had lunch is so charming as well--it must have been so much fun! Thank you so much for stopping by my blog and leaving a nice comment about my porcelain berry vine post--glad to read that you grow it, too, and that you enjoy the berries!

  6. It looks beautiful Cathy !!! Would love to spend a day there myself - ( long drive from Montreal, though lol )
